Speech and Hearing Month is dedicated to raising awareness about communication health and the importance of early detection and intervention in communication disorders, in addition to the important role that Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists serve in supporting our communities, students, and families.
At DSB1, we have early and ongoing identification procedures to identify each child’s level of development, learning abilities, and needs. This process is important to the early identification of children with special learning needs and is an important component of DSB1’s continuum of Special Education services.
